Fundraising Bag Pack at Dunnes Stores
The Bag-Packing was a resounding success in Dunnes Stores and the final amount will be shared once it has been confirmed by the bank. The Management of Dunnes Stores complimented us on our professionalism and our efficiency.
A massive thank you to all volunteers - your contribution to the existence of our club is not to be underestimated. It was lovely to see some of our teenage swimmers from Groups 3 and 4 rise to the occasion, and it was really nice to see some of our younger swimmers with their parents wearing the club gear. There's plenty of photos on Facebook and the gallery. The spirit of community was evident !
The committee would like to thank you for responding to the request for help in the manner you did. As like the table quiz, it made the organisation very manageable. Both events have exposed the character of and characters in our club !
Particular thanks must be given to Colm McDonagh who, despite convalescing still managed to attend many times.
Coach Eduardo, CSSC Chair Mike Mitchell and CSSC CCO Julie Barrientos attended the Connacht Club Day in Athlone. It was a great opportunity for clubs to share experiences and discuss successful ways for coaches and committees to work together.

CSSC Table Quiz
Thank you to all who supported us in the Embassy Rooms for our Table Quiz. It was a great night, and the second big social event of the year (Christmas Gala) and judging from the atmosphere it was worth it! Special thanks to Colm McDonagh who organised the venue through the Quinn family. It was the fun spot to be….it’s been a while since some of us had been dazzled by disco balls !
Big shout out to Enda Meehan and Mike Mitchell who had quite the workout running around collecting and distributing the sheets and answers; John Farrell and Martin Jones who had quite the challenge adding up totals in the disco lights; and finally to Paddy and Carrie, our Club Captains…who performed their duties excellently.
Thank you to all for their good humour, there's plenty of photos on Facebook and the gallery.

The South West Minor League (SWML), also known as the Northern League, is starting up for the 2019 season and CSSC are defending their title win from last year!. The SWML is a development league to encourage younger swimmers, who wouldn’t normally participate in galas, to participate and improve their competitive swimming skills. The emphasis is on fun and team work, and it's a fun 2 hours for the swimmers. We have 3 upcoming events:
The first gala is at home in Sligo Sports Complex on 9th Feb at 4pm and we encourage all of the younger swimmers from Nippers and Group 1 to come along and cheer on their club and support their team mates. It gives swimmers and parents who have not attended any galas before, the opportunity to experience the fun and see how the galas run for attending future events.
