Kevin McCarthy is one of the newest coaches at County Sligo Swimming Club and began coaching last September.
Although new to us, he is certainly not new to swimming, having trained from an early age with Dublin Swimming Club and competed nationally and internationally for many years.
Kevin is a SI level 2 coach in Teaching Aquatics as well as a SI Level 2 coach in Swim Coaching. He is also an Open Water Sea Swimming coach and is very active himself in this sport.
His joy in coaching comes from seeing kids progress in their technique and enjoyment of swimming and on a personal level he enjoys the peace and quiet of swim training.
In addition to coaching, Kevin has a degree in Leisure Management and spent many years managing leisure centres.
